Team Remember is a team formed for and by those Walking or Riding in memory of someone lost to ALS. It’s an opportunity to continue participating and engaging with the ALS community without the full commitment of starting and leading one’s own team.  It can be truly fulfilling to pay tribute to loved ones lost to ALS through Team Remember while knowing your efforts are generating help and hope for those who are still living with ALS today, and for those who will be diagnosed in the future. 

As your team Captain, I am too familiar with the courage it requires to transition from event participation in honor of someone living with ALS to continued engagement in memory of a loved one. I lost my mom to ALS in 2015, just one month before my local Walk to Defeat ALS, and I was apprehensive about returning to the place that held so many memories, while seeing so many others who are still living with the disease. But once we arrived, I felt the love from the community that had grown to support my mom and our family, and the satisfaction of giving back. I can’t think of a better way to pay tribute to her each year.

I invite you, family, friends, and colleagues to participate in memory of your loved one lost to ALS, alongside so many of us that know the pain and anger of losing someone. If you don’t want to start your own “In Memory Of” team, Team Remember could be a meaningful option for you. Members who join Team Remember can still donate or have donations made specifically in memory of their loved one.   

Let's remember and celebrate their lives together. The Walk and Ride empowers us to share our many stories, laugh and cry together as a community, and raise important awareness and funds as we urgently pursue better care and effective treatments and cures to defeat ALS.
