INSITRO'S COMMITMENT TO TREAT AND CURE ALS

insitro's team of infinitely curious biologists and engineers have built a powerful drug discovery engine that mixes genetics, cellular models of disease, massive clinical cohorts, and machine learning to accelerate the drug discovery process.

The company is committed to helping ALS patients by creating novel treatments using advanced technological improvements in biology, machine learning, and drug discovery.  Along with the event's co-sponsers Denali and Cytokinetics, insitro hopes to usher in a new era of treatments for patients and families suffering from this terrible disease, while also raising awareness and funds for local patient communities through events such as the CEO Soak!

ABOUT ALS 

Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries. 

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. 

ALS can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

The CEO Soak event will take place on September 14th at 4pm in The Cove in South San Francisco.  A twist on the famous Ice Bucket Challenge, three prominent biotechs in the area – Cytokinetics, Denali, and insitro – will each have three members of their executive team dropped into a dunk tank!  All three organizations are raising funds for the ALS Golden West, which will be matched by the respective companies.  All funds will go towards the ALS Golden West's mission of providing care for patients, funding research grants, and acting as patient advocates.

STEP 2: Donate! Please click on the DONATE link, knowing that your donation will be doubled by insitro and go to patients in need!  Anyone that donates will be included in the raffle to select the lucky person who gets to 'dunk' their execs!
STEP 3: Attend on September 14th at 4pm and enjoy the festivities!

(note that you may see the funds are raised for the "2023 Silicon Valley Walk to Defeat ALS;" this is intentional, it's just a way to combine donations from multiple events through one channel)
