Again this year, Jane and I are fundraising to support those affected by ALS and to spread awareness of the urgency to find effective treatments and cures. Unfortunately we will be traveling (down the Danube!) and will miss the walk this, but will be there in spirit (and in cash).
As most of you know by now, we walk to support our beautiful friend Harry Wittenberg who inspired so many of us during his struggle with ALS, and to honor his amazing wife Mary Ann, who continues to do such much to fight against ALS.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone, and presently there is no known cause or cure.
