Our beloved Jean was loved by so many people in various groups and organizations. Our Nishi Ohana is involved in this Walk to Defeat ALS to honor Jean and her courageous battle against ALS.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS average 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
ALS can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease nor is there a cure.
That's why we are participating in the Walk to Defeat ALS. To bring hope. To raise awareness. To provide resources and services to families free of charge. to help unlock the mystery of ALS and to find a key to effective treatments and cures.
If you have any questions or would be interested in joining "Team Jean" for the Walk to Defeat ALS on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Kapiolani Park please contact Tom at firstname.lastname@example.org or call at 808-478-3990. (If walking please provide shirt size!)
