WHY WE WALK - WE NEED YOUR HELP
LET’s KICK ALS TO THE MOON! Thank you for your valuable and tax-deductible donation. The money we raise through this team will help fund equipment and services needs for those of us with ALS and support our caregivers with resources to help make this terrible journey bearable. Your donations make all this free to us. Why is that important? Because this disease can cost family’s around $250,000 a year! A portion of the donations also go towards research and development, to bring answers about the origins of this disease, to one day develop a cure.
Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.
That’s why we’re participating in the Walk to Defeat ALS®. To bring hope. To raise awareness.
ABOUT ALS
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis. Fortunately, some live much longer. ALS can strike anyone.
